Step Hear in New York Design Guidelines
New York City has listed the Step-Heartm solution in their recommendations for Accessibility Guidelines, 2010.
This recognition is an important milestone in the universal application of the system which we hope will serve as a platform for installations across the public and private sector in buildings, parks, recreation, sports and cultural centers, schools and colleges, shopping malls and many more.
The recommendation appears in the Inclusive Design Guidelines released by the New York City.

The guidelines (pages 132-133) give a very accurate description of the Step-Hear system under the heading – Information/Navigation/Alert Reference Point System. It goes ahead with descriptions of the base units, activators, how it should be used and locations both indoors and outdoors.
